Key Steps

1. Blade Assembly

• Blade is removed and rebuilt
• Cutting edges replaced as needed
• Line boring performed where necessary

2. Hydraulic Cylinders

• Blade and turning cylinders removed
• Rebuilt by a hydraulic specialty shop
• Bench tested for quality assurance

3. Blade Frame & Center Pins

• Blade support frame line bored as needed
• Center pins inspected and either line bored or replaced
• New bushings and pins installed if required

4. Hydraulic Valve Tower

• Removed from machine
• Fully disassembled and rebuilt

5. Cab Restoration

• Cab removed and stripped to the frame
• Repairs completed as needed
• Sandblasted, painted, and rebuilt
• New air conditioning unit installed
• All glass replaced
• All cab functions tested and operational

6. Hydraulic Pumps

• All pumps removed
• Rebuilt and bench tested by a hydraulic specialty shop

7. Machine Structure & Frame

• Disassembled for full inspection
• Necessary repairs, updates, and adjustments completed

8. Engine Rebuild

• Best Equipment will generally utilize a New Cat Engine or Reman Cat Engine
• If not the following process occurs
• Head, block, and crankshaft sent to engine shop for machining
• Reassembled with all new Caterpillar parts
• Includes new/rebuilt alternator, starter, and turbo
• Final assembly tested on Caterpillar dynamometer

9. Transmission Rebuild

• New bearings, seals, and clutch packs installed
• All worn or damaged hard parts replaced
• Dynamometer tested for performance validation

10. Torque Converter

• Fully rebuilt for restored function

11. Dropbox

• Opened, inspected, resealed, and re-bearings completed

12. Electrical System Overhaul

• New electrical control box installed
• New ECMs installed
• All main wiring harnesses replaced

13. Cooling System

• Hydraulic coolers rebuilt or replaced by specialty shop

14. Axles & Final Drives

• Axles removed
• Final drives opened and inspected
• Hard parts replaced as needed
• Final drives resealed with new bearings

15. Differentials

• Opened and inspected
• Necessary parts replaced
• Resealed for durability

16. Battery & Power Wiring

• New batteries installed
• Complete replacement of battery wiring

17. Belly Pans

• Removed for full inspection
• Bolt holes repaired as needed
• Belly pans reinstalled
• New actuators installed

18. Paint & Finish

• Machine stripped down to frame components
• Sandblasted, primed, and painted
• All parts individually refinished
• New decals applied

19. Electronic Calibration

• Machine linked to Caterpillar system
• Calibrated to Caterpillar OEM specifications

20. Final Testing

• Machine operated under load
• Filters pulled and inspected
• All oils and filters replaced during reassembly

21. Touch-Up & Final Detailing

• Cosmetic touch-ups applied
• Machine presented in like-new condition

22. Wheel Rebuild

• Wheels rebuilt by Terra
• Approximately 7.5” cleats installed

23. Hydraulic Hoses

• Replaced as needed based on condition

24. Hydraulic Tank

• Removed and split
• Inspected and reassembled after cleaning

25. Fuel Tank

• Thoroughly cleaned inside and out

26. Hydraulic Valves

• Removed, disassembled, rebuilt with new O-rings
• Reassembled and reinstalled
